November 10, 1998 - e-mail from Dean Oscar Hildreth. " Ozni enlisted in Captain Frederic Getman Company, 5th Regiment, 5th Brigade, 9th Division at Johnstown, Montgomery, NY the 11th day of September 1812, and was discharged at Sackett's Harbor on the 11th day of February, 1813. He was given credit for service from 24 August 1812 to 24 February 1813, a total of 185 days. His rank was Private. His pension number was 25561. His file states that he married Jane Stark 4 Mar 1817 in Oppenheim, NY. He had filed for bounty land claims from Lake Co., OH on 10 Feb 1853, and again on 29 Mar 1855.
